Jim is a partner in Thompson Hine LLP’s Business Litigation practice group where his practice is devoted to complex commercial litigation involving, among other things, construction, tax, and professional malpractice cases.  Since 2000, he has served as lead counsel in several major trials and arbitrations, securing in excess of $161 million for his clients in the process.

Jim has been named in Chambers USA Guide to America’s Leading Business Lawyers and has consistently been listed in The Best Lawyers in America.  Jim is also active in the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association (CMBA).  He served on the Board of Trustees from 2003 through 2006 and is the former Chair of the CMBA’s Judicial Selection Committee.  A leading litigator in Ohio, Jim has been selected by his peers for inclusion in Ohio Super Lawyers magazine every year since 2004.

Jim is a member of the Advisory Board for the United States District Court for Northern District of Ohio and he is also an instructor for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy.

Along with Judge Timothy McMonagle, Jim is Co-Chair of the Task Force On Judicial Excellence.
